How does this mobile PHV work?
welding fume extractor?

The PHV extracts welding fumes directly at the welding source: a highly effective filtering method that allows welders to work safely. The filtration process takes place in a few intelligent steps and ensures a filtration efficiency of nearly 100%*.

  • The side inlet captures larger particles through a swirling air flow.
  • Two spark arresters prevent sparks from reaching the filter cartridge. A cleanable aluminum pre-filter captures larger particles, while the integrated spark arrester filters finer particles.
  • The Dura-H main filter cartridge has a total surface area of 12 m² (129 ft²). Thanks to its unique structure based on channel technology, the PHV achieves consistently high filtration. The durable Dura-H filter is long-lasting.
  • The supplied activated carbon filter (FAC-HV) neutralises unpleasant odours.
  • The HEPA final filter guarantees a filtration efficiency of nearly 100%. According to government standards, a filter is classified as a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter if it filters 99.5% of particles as small as 0.3 micrometers from the air. This HEPA filter is standard in the PHV and makes the unit particularly suitable for stainless steel welding.

Choose the most suitable nozzle for your situation:

Match your PHV exhaust extractor with the correct nozzle and hose length:

EN-20 Funnel Nozzle: Flexible tube with a funnel-shaped nozzle and a metal magnetic base. Suitable for MIG/MAG/GMAW, TIG, and FCAW welding. Simply bend the EN-20 into position, 2 to 4 cm from the source of the contamination.

EN-40, crevice nozzle (crevice nozzle):
This nozzle has a slotted metal tube and a magnetic base. It is particularly suitable for electrode welding (MMAW/SMAW). Place the nozzle 2 to 4 cm from the source of contamination.

All four packages come with these accessories:

  • Activated carbon filter FAC-HV: to neutralize penetrating odors where recirculation is permitted
  • MBH/Wall Bracket: the wall bracket to mount the unit on the wall

Frequently asked questions about the PHV Welding Fume Extractor

What applications is the PHV suitable for?

How does the PHV mobile welding fume extractor work?

The unit extracts welding fumes close to the welding source; a highly effective filtering method for keeping welders' breathing spaces free of harmful substances. The contaminated air passes through a pre-filter, two spark arresters, a Dura-H main filter, and a built-in HEPA filter. This removes almost 100% of harmful particles from the air. What remains is clean air for a safe workplace and healthy employees.

What benefits does the PHV mobile welding fume extractor offer you as a welder?

With optimal use, this guarantees almost 100% clean air in your work environment. This significantly reduces your health risks. You're also much less likely to experience headaches, fatigue, or difficulty concentrating during your workday.

What does W3 mean?

Plymovent's PHV complies with W3. W3 is described in standard EN-ISO 21904-2:2020. This is a standard for welding fume extractors, where extracted air is recirculated into the room. It guarantees that the extractor is safe and effective when welding all steel types, including those with high nickel or chromium contents, such as stainless steel.

What are the advantages of a mobile welding fume extractor compared to a stationary, fixed unit?

Mobile units like the PHV are compact, flexible, and ideal for workplaces where there's no space for large mobile or wall-mounted systems. They offer the same filtration quality, but with maximum flexibility.

Is the PHV easy to move?

Yes, thanks to its compact design, handle, and wheels, the PHV is light, maneuverable, and easy to move to different work locations.

Can I mount the PHV on the wall?

Yes, thanks to the supplied wall bracket (MBH), the unit is also suitable for permanent wall mounting.

Which filters are included?

The PHV comes standard with a Dura-H main filter and a HEPA final filter. Your purchase also includes an activated carbon filter to neutralize odors during recirculation.
