  • The filter is made of bicomponent polyester fibers. These fibers give the filter high mechanical strength: it can withstand high levels of contamination and air pressure (from the cleaning mechanism, see below) without wearing out, being damaged, or deforming. The filter maintains its maximum quality for a long time.
  • Even better filter efficiency with Preco-N pretreatment. This special precoat powder is included as standard. This prevents dust particles from adhering to the filter material; they are easily removed. After treatment, the filter has an efficiency of MERV 14, according to the Ashrae standard.

The Cart-D Premium Plus filter traps contaminated particles on the outside of the filter. The RamAir™ back-pulse cleaning system of the MultiDust® Bank systems cleans the filter automatically and regularly. You can also wash the filter with Plymovent EFC cleaning agent, restoring it to near-new condition.
Before first use and after washing, you can precoat the filter cloth with Preco-N pretreatment. This powder is included and can be vacuumed up through the extraction arm of your welding fume extraction unit. It prevents dirt and dust from adhering to the filter medium. The coating also makes this dirt easier to remove, extending the filter's lifespan. This filter normally has a MERV rating of 11. After Preco-N pretreatment, it reaches 14.

What is the lifespan of the Cart-D Premium Plus filter?

The Cart-D Premium Plus filter boasts excellent mechanical strength thanks to its bicomponent polyester fiber filter cloth. This allows for intensive and frequent cleaning using compressed air backpulsing. Its service life is therefore rarely limited by mechanical wear. Instead, it is primarily determined by the stickiness of the welding fume. Dry, non-sticky applications, such as dry welding fume, achieve a service life of over 8,000 operating hours, and in some cases even longer.
Sticky applications, such as oily welding fumes, significantly shorten filter life. When excessive oil loading reduces filter life below 2,000 hours, Plymovent recommends using OilShield . This system doses small amounts of limestone to absorb oil and extend filter life.
